Langeproon-Enno-Milvi
The history of Langemaa Winery dates back to 1959 when Enno-Jakob Langeproon and Milvi Valentin got married and moved from Estonia’s northern coast to Tihemetsa in Southern Estonia.

While working as teachers at the Tihemetsa Agricultural Technical School, they built their dream country home together with their sons Peep and Priit in 1986, completing it just in time for mother Milvi’s 50th birthday.

Around the house, they planted the first apple trees, from which they began making homemade natural apple juices.

This small beginning eventually grew into Langemaa Winery, where the family’s juice and winemaking traditions have continued through the generations.

The family roots of Nikolai Langebraun (Langeproon was his later name in Estonian), the Estonian businessman and founder of the porcelain industry, go back to Langemaa in Tihemetsa, according to a family genealogy study compiled by his granddaughter Pille-Riin Langeproon.

Entrepreneurship has been passed down through the family for generations. The Langemaa estate in Tihemetsa is surrounded by beautiful apple and berry orchards, whose abundant harvest is transformed into natural juices and wines, adding value to both the products and the Tihemetsa region. After the passing of the father Enno, the family faced an important decision—how to continue? The son, Priit, decided that expanding the plantation was a logical next step to take Langemaa’s production to a new level and to keep the family heritage alive.
